On a program

On the program about "Work" (01/06/08) the guest from Loyola Univ. of Chicago summed up his ideas by quoting author/lecturer Leo Buscaglia. He felt it necessary
to preface his summary with an apology, something to the effect of "I'm sorry to quote Leo Buscaglia to a table full of academics."
I would be interested in knowing what he thinks Buscaglia was, if not an academic. He held three academic degrees, all in Education. He considered himself an educator above all else. Most of his career was in a classroom of some sort, from
elementary to graduate school.

He also was broad-minded enough to know that wisdom abides in many places, including places you might not expect to find it. The fact that he presented information in a winning way should not require an apology; that just makes the information more memorable ... as the guest from Loyola knows, or
Buscaglia's statement wouldn't have stuck with him all these years.
In other words, no apologies necessary.

Just a few words

You’ve gone on quite an amazing intellectual journey in your life. It takes great courage to open up your life to public scrutiny like that. And I sense it’s an honest opening of your life’s story, not the whitewashed versions many people give of their lives.

However, have you ever approached your belief system from the other side of the equation? Yes you’ve aligned your beliefs to seemingly be more effective at accomplishing things. But were your previous belief systems truly what were holding you back or are they excuses? For example, I don’t see how your Catholocism held you back from accomplishing great things academically.
Also suppose your goals and accomplishments aren’t what you’re supposed to be doing? Suppose for all of your earthly accomplishments, you’re still missing a fundamental truth? This is something I struggle with, though I can’t say that I’ve been through anything anywhere nearly as dramatic as your life’s experiences. But I wonder — is dramatic change in and of itself proof of anything? It may be proof of something, but is it the answer to the question you seek or are you incorrectly seeng this change as the answer to your question? Is there a breakthrough on the order of Newtonion physics to relatively awaiting you?
Maybe if I could live a thousand years, I’d get an acceptable answer to such questions. But for now, I suppose I’ll have to settle for interesting philisophical discussions.

Depressed?

Depression is a difficult illness for even the most iron-willed of individuals. Whether you’re clinically depressed or just in a rut, depression can make basic tasks like cleaning the house, taking a shower and even getting out of bed incredibly difficult and physically and mentally draining. It is important to stay motivated to continue to live your life and work towards feeling better, even when you’re at your lowest point. Here are some simple ways that you can motivate yourself on a daily basis:

Ok this is funny

FRODO

Noooooooooooooooo!!!!

[Gandalf loses his grip and falls into

the chasm]

FRODO

[Calls after Gandalf as he falls into

the abyss] Gaaandaaaaalf!!

[Gandalf falls after the Balrog and

grabs hold of his sword Glamdring on

his way down. As they continue to plunge

into the depths, Gandalf hacks away

at the Balrog even as it thrashes and

bounces off the walls. They continue

to plunge at great speed, sometimes

with Gandalf clinging to the horn of

the demon. The battling pair then falls

into an enormous cavern and plunges

into the water. Just then Frodo awakens

as if from a nightmare.]

FRODO

Gandalf!

SAM

What is it, Mr. Frodo?

FRODO

Nothing. Just a dream. [Lies back down.]

Fastest Way to Lose Weight in 1 Month

Is losing fat the natural way what you have been looking for? Or could you be searching for the fastest way to lose weight in 1 month? The most usual recommendation by experts is to diet. However, the problem with dieting is that most of us just are turned off by it because it comes with too many restrictions. Shedding the extra flab is not as complicated as you think it may be if you were to apply the right method to it.

I am sure that you will be delightful to find out that that are other alternatives to lose weight as well as the fastest way to lose weight other than dieting. These ways will be unveiled in this article.

Firstly, dieting does not work. On top of loathing diets, there are other reasons why dieting just don’t work. Although you may end up losing some fat from your thighs and belly after starving for a few days, you will definitely gain back everything that you lost in a matter of time.

As a matter of fact, the human body is built in a way that it will go against any form starvation. In the old days when food was scarce and everyone did not have enough to eat, the body stores fat deposits in order to survive. Fast forward to now and our bodies still do not change in any way even though food is in abundance nowadays.

The human body is designed in a unique way whereby it slows down its metabolic rate and stores fat when it undergoes starvation or when it does not get enough amounts of calories. This is one of the main causes why many dieters end up gaining back the weight they have lost.

Secondly, eating frequently is the key to burning fat. Eating only is not enough if you want to lose weight in no time. To be specific, you have to eat frequently. I am sure you may wonder how eating more makes you lose weight right. Well, it may seem ironic but that is the truth. In fact, you are not eating more than you what you normally consume in a day.

This means that instead of eating the normal 3 meals a day, now you have to eat six smaller meals every three hours or so if you want to achieve the fastest way to lose weight in 2 days.

If you are like anyone else, you probably end your day with three large meals. That is not conducive for quick weight loss! Instead, you should break those three large meals into six smaller meals and eat each small meal every two or three hours.

Take an entire day off for relaxation.

The first tip I have might seem a bit counter-intuitive, but it’s worked wonders for me.
When you’re feeling as if you have too much on your plate, one of the best things you could ever do is clear everything off of your plate. Just let all nonessential responsibilities slide to the side for the day. True, something urgent might pop up, and you probably won’t be able to be relinquished of all of your responsibilities, but a day of relaxation can seriously free up your mind.
Instead of stressing out and trying to find little ways to cut corners here and there to free up time, take a day off just to let your mind think and relax. When the next day rolls around, see if you can spot any ways to more efficiently and productively schedule your time. By taking a day off, you gain an outsider’s perspective into your time management dilemma. You can take a step back, clear your mind, and tackle your challenges with a fresh perspective.

Merry Argh..

MERRY
Pippin, let’s go.

[Their hands still bound, the hobbits
try to crawl away. Suddenly a foot comes
down on Merry and Pippin is turned onto
his back.]

GRISHNÁKH
[Brandishing a blade in front of Pippin’s
face] Go on, call for help. Squeal!
No one’s gonna save you now!

[Suddenly, a spear pierces the Orc's
back. Mayhem ensues as Riders of Rohan
burst out from their hiding places and
ambush the Orcs.]

MERRY
Pippin! [Gestures for them to make their
escape.]

[The hobbits try to escape from the
pandemonium to the forest, dodging bodies
and stomping feet. Suddenly Pippin turns
onto his face and looks up to a pair
of thrashing hooves bearing down on
him.]

PIPPIN
ARGH!!!
